Hypochlorous acid does not have an electrical charge where sodium hypochlorite does carry a negative charge. Hypochlorous acid moves around quickly and is able to oxidize what it comes in contact with quickly. Germ surfaces carry a negative charge which is the same as sodium hypochlorite giving a negative attraction, can take up to 30 minutes – it is like trying to put two magnets together the wrong way. The ratio of EOW to Bleach is controlled by the pH of the water. If the pH is below 7 most of the chlorine is Hypochlorous acid, over 95%!
Hypochlorous acid is safe and not an irritant, including your skin and even your eyes – does not burn. And if ingested it is harmless. DO NOT TRY ANY OF THAT WITH CHLORINE BLEACH! What is crazy is even with that hypochlorous acid is well over 50 times more effecient at killing the little things it comes in contact with.
